From the 28th September to 1st October, the XLIII National Competition of Musical Bands in the youth category took place in Paipa. 35 orchestras took part in a tribute to Musical Expression: The Colombian Salsa.
We are proud to announce that SGS Symphony Orchestra came first. They were also awarded first prize for their interpretation of Pio-nono by the composer Andres Ramos Herrera.
The international jury was made up of Tetsuo Kagehira from Japan; Pere Vicelet from Spain; and Guillermo Gordillo Galan from Colombia.
It is to be noted that over the last few years SGS Symphony Orchestra has come first or second in the Wind Instrument Competition in Bogotá; in the National Competition in Anapoima and in the XII Competition of Orchestras of Bogotá.
Congratulations to all the students who took part and have placed our Symphony Orchestra among the best in Bogotá and in the whole of the country.
