We are proud to inform you that our pupils Martien Van Der Maas Ruiz and Lukas Gil Dorsonville were among the six finalists to qualify for the District Chess Tournament. Martien was runner- up (sub 10 category) and Lukas came third (sub 14 category).

The tournament took place on the 6^th and 7^th March in the Bulevar Niza Shopping Centre. It is an official tournament in which all pupils of schools in Bogotá, members of sports clubs registered in the Recreation and Sport Centre can take part. It is a round robin tournament (all play all)

Martien was champion in the first round, winning all games (6 out of 6).  In  the second round he scored 3 points, obtaining first place.

Lukas scored 2 points in the first round and was runner up in the second round with a score of 4 points, obtaining 6 points for the District Final.

Martien and Lukas will take part in the national semi-final next week on the www.lichess.org platform. We wish them luck!
