The ‘Lira Project,’ the latest challenge facing our SGS Musicians was devised by our headmaster Jaime Acosta Allen and designed by the Music Department. Its aim is to enhance the musical level of the students as well as to acknowledge their achievements.
Who can take part?
All students from 2nd to 11th Grade
How do I enter?
Using the following link: Inscription or the Intranet of the Music Department
Registrations are open from Tuesday 12th to Friday 21st June and are free of charge
What should I do after registration?
You will be sent an email with instructions and what needs to be prepared
You will also have access to ‘the Liras Virtual Classroom’ with additional support material
How is the challenge/contest structured?
-Musical language: music theory, music notations and listening to music in various contexts
-Instrumental performance: sight reading, instrumental technique, scales, arpeggios and studies, repertoire
-Music composition: students must present a piece composed for their musical instrument with score
What are Liras?
-Lira 1: Beginners
-Lira 2: Intermediate Level
-Lira 3: Advanced Level
How do I obtain a Lira?
You will be evaluated according to your level
-Beginners (Lira 1) 15th 16th 17th August 2019
-Intermediate (Lira 2) October 2019
-Advanced (Lira 3) December2019
Note: It is necessary to pass Beginner Level (Lira 1) to proceed to Intermediate Level (Lira2) same for Advanced Level (Lira 3)
When can I take Lira 1?
-Thursday 13th August: theory 8.00 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Friday 14th August: musical instrument; at time allocated to each student
-Saturday 15th August: musical instrument; at time allocated to each student
