This week we continue with our workshop series, Engaging in English. In the first session we talked about some of the myths of bilingualism and then in session #2 we shared ideas about reading in bilingual families:
Parents do not need to specifically teach their children how to read, parents can teach their children to love reading and to love books!
Whether you read in Spanish, English or another language, parents can create reading routines and habits to make reading enjoyable and satisfying.
There are many ways to incorporate reading into our lives: reading time at home, give books as birthday and holiday gifts, find books when you travel.
For Session #3 – Music in Bilingual Families, we will talk about the SGS Music programme and the value of incorporating music and language learning to enjoy more activities as bilingual families.
If you participated last week – we will continue on Thursday 28 May (6:30 – 8:00 PM) or Saturday 30 May (9:30 – 11:00 AM) on Teams.
If you have not participated yet, but would like to join us, please send an email to lenis.rodriguez@sgs.edu.co and she will register you.
