Our Environmental awareness is something that we have been proud of since the school started, and we are committed to educating students about the care of the environment. This education is carried out in the school through the Department of Science and our Environmental Advisor.
Ecological Committee: Complying with the Agreement No. 166 of 2005 (Bogotá Council), our School Environmental Committee was created as an advisory body on environmental matters. This is made up of students from grade 2 to grade 11, who each year volunteer to be a part of this committee. Our students work on campaigns and projects about recycling, biodiversity and the sustainable use of resources.
Environmental Club: Activities such as projects, research, and campaigns that impact the community are carried out by students in secondary during the time set aside for ‘Clubs’.
Ecological Outings:
These outings are linked to activities within the Department of Science, whereby our students visit places such as Wetland la Conejera, Granja la María, the Botanical Gardens, Pionono Park, Monoliths in Suesca, Pedropalo lake, Santa Rosita Suesca, Cachipay, Tablazo Mountain, Tambo waterfall, Valley of the lakes, Guacheneque Paramo, Alto la Chorrera, among others.
PRAE Proyectos Ambientales Escolares (Environmental School Projects)
PRAE, Environmental School Projects, is one of the strategies to promote environmental education within the school‘s curriculum. This was carried out in conformity with Decreto No. 1743 of 1994, in which the government of the Republic of Colombia established projects for all levels of formal education as well as the criteria for the promotion of non-formal and informal environmental education in the country.
