We have the pleasure of announcing the visit on the 19^th April, of one of the most popular children’s authors at the moment. Antonio Santa Ana is the author of ‘Los Ojos del Perro Siberiano’ a book that is on the 6^th Grade reading list. With more than half a million copies sold, it confirms the appeal that this writer has to the youth of a whole continent.

Santa Ana was born in 1963 in Buenos Aires where he lives with his two children. He is a member of the board of the Argentinian Association of Children’s and Young People’s Literature (ALIJA) and is on the editorial committee of the Latin American Children’s and Young People’s literary magazine published by ‘Fundalectura’ (represented by IBBY). He has been a member of the jury at prestigious literary competitions and plays an active part in literary events.

His book ‘Los Ojos del Perro Siberiano’ (1998) has been so popular in Latin America that it has been translated into Italian. In the book, that delves into complex family ties, a boy sets out to find out why his older brother disappears from their house and depicts the ensuing relationship that develops between them.

His most recent book ‘Nunca seré un Superhéroe’ (2000), that illustrates the difficult transition between childhood and adolescence, has become a favourite among many readers. In his direct and concise approach to writing in depth about the subjects that he approaches, is where the success of his books lies.
