The Science Department and Environmental Studies announce the results of the Final Round of the Colombian Science Olympiad that took place in the last week of May: Three of our students qualified among the ten best science students in the country.
Level One:
Catalina Flórez Cortes (7th Grade) SIXTH PLACE
Higher Level:
María Reales Camacho (9th Grade) EIGHTH PLACE
Adriana Velázquez Medina (9th Grade) EIGHTH PLACE
The girls have now been invited by the Antonio Nariño University to a training that will take place between 25th June and 7th July, on the premises of the Olympiad in Bogotá. This will be in preparation for the Junior International Science Olympiad (USO) that will take place in Botswana in November. There is also the possibility that they will participate in the Ibero-American Science Olympiad (OICJ) that will take place in Uruguay in October (to be confirmed).
Juan Felipe Camelo Bernal (8th Grade) has also been invited to join in the training and though he was not in the top ten, he came very close and the Olympiad committee saw his enormous scientific potential.
A special thank you to all the students who took part and to all the Science Department for their hard work and support in this our first Science Olympiad.
