The Research Club headed by the teachers Astrid Hurtatis and Camila Zborovsky, takes pleasure in announcing that the research project developed by ten of its students with the help of Ana Maria Acosta, was selected for the XVIII STUDENT RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM. This project was presented at the Gimnasio Campestre on the 9^th May.

The project was developed thanks to the interest and motivation of the students. The scientific research for this proposal continues to expand throughout the school year as students build solid foundations on which to become researchers.

The Club is made up of students from 7^th to 11^th Grade who according to their abilities and interests develop their own projects. This year the project is entitled ‘The Saint George’s School Wetland, an environment that is suited to the conservation of biodiversity in Suba.’ The main objective of the project is to learn about the biological and chemical elements present in the water and the air of the wetland, to ascertain its relevance as a biological corridor in Suba.

The parameters analysed established that it is suitable for the conservation and preservation of life. The macroinvertebrates detected and the chemical analysis of the water, confirmed that the quality of the water in the wetland is suited. It likewise showed how it improves the quality air in School.

To conclude, although the environment does favour biodiversity conservation, there is room for improvement. For this reason, the club will continue to find ways to improve the quality of our wetland. The success of our projects is determined by the enthusiasm and energy of our students. For this reason, we invite any student who has an interest in this area to join our team of researchers.
